![]() name: Razvan age: 29 about me: Journalist I love to drink and dance till sunrise. love/hate bucharest: LOVE: Bucharest became one of the most interesting cultural capitals in Europe : concerts, street events, arts and crafts. In Bucharest, you can meet friendly different people. The parties in the street in Old Town are amazing. HATE: I hate that there are no money for rehabilitation of some historical buildings. Some were destroyed or some are just falling apart. my Bucharest guide: FOOD: La mama is the most popular Romanian restaurant in Bucharest, but not the best. You can find here Romanian dishes at decent prices. La Teral is the perfect location, at the 10th floor of an apartment building, from where you can see the popular Casa Poporului (Parliament Palace). Food is not so great, but for the view it’s a must see. Caru cu Bere - here you can find Romanian food and the interbelic ambient is amazing. A little bit expensive. DAY: I like to discover pubs in the streets of city center to escape from the crowded Old Town Streets. In Universitate area there are plenty of small bars and restaurants with small prices. For exemple, you can find beer at 1 euro. There are some beautiful parks in Bucharest. I recommend Carol, Cismigiu and Herastrau. NIGHT: Are you ready for the floor? The nightlife of Bucharest is very intense. I recommend some alternative clubs (Control, Atelier Mecanic). At Atelier Mecanic, there are amazing parties in the street with nice and interesting people, till sunrise. SHOPPING: If you are a mall fan, you can find one at every corner. There are shops of famous brands. In the city center there are a lot of antique and book stores. An interesting and authentic experience is a walk in traditional markets where you can see Romanian peasants selling their fruits and vegetables grown in their own backyards. It’s a quite an olfactory and visual experience. CULTURE: In summer, there are a lot of big international festivals. "Bestfest" is the most important musical event of the year. Is more than a festival, it’s an experience that take place near Bucharest, in Tunari, on a meadow, near a lake, with 7 stages and dozens of artists, authentic food, cultural spaces, extreme sports. BUCHAREST DISCOVERY: La Metoc – an amazing tea garden. The tables are intimate placed around bushes and fig trees. Here you can find teas from all around the world, fresh made, hot or iced and delicious homemade desserts. |
