LOVE: Bucharest is my hometown. I just can’t stop loving it. I adore no. 41 tram.
HATE: I hate the traffic jam, the cables randomly left over, the silence on the street in hot days.
my Bucharest guide:
FOOD: KFC, Mc Donald’s when I’m in a hurry. My favourite place is the food court in AFI Palace Cotroceni, especially Nordsee (for the fishplates and for the skating rink and Chopstix. I also like Dristor Kebab, for the “ayran” and the tender beef. I love the Arabic food, well spiced, especially the long grain rice, curry rice, the hummus paste prepared with olive oil, garlic, lemon and sesame; I’d stop anywhere to eat this! I also go to Terasa Doamnei, La Mama, Casa Jienilor, Bistro Atheneum, Hanul lui Manuc, Caru cu Bere, for the Romanian dishes and on the terraces in the old city centre. From time to time, when I’m in the mood for “mici” (Romanian traditional grilled chopped and rolled spicy meat) I choose a simple traditional day bar.
